Role Overview:

As a Game Design intern, you will play a critical role in crafting engaging, impactful, and immersive game experiences. You will contribute directly to the design and development of a variety of gaming formats, including military-style EVOC driving simulations, CDL preparation tests, framing and construction training modules, and financial literacy exercises with Money Smarts. Your work will also impact our Esports High School League and Collegiate League, where you’ll help shape competitive formats, gameplay mechanics, and digital environments that boost student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design Innovative Gameplay Mechanics: Develop and execute engaging gameplay mechanics, level progression strategies, and player experiences that captivate and educate. Start your designs from scratch, ensuring they align with our core educational goals while delivering a fun gaming experience.

- Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work alongside writers, artists, programmers, and sound designers to create rich, immersive, and high-performance games. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all creative elements come together seamlessly to generate a unified gaming experience.

- Develop Systems for Education and Simulation Games: Focus on creating systems for a wide variety of games, including sports, educational, and career simulation games. Whether it’s designing for EVOC, CDL, construction, or flight training, each game must be intuitive, educational, and entertaining.

- Craft User Flows and Feedback Systems: Design intuitive user interfaces and feedback mechanisms that challenge players while rewarding their successes. Ensure that each system is aligned with the educational objectives of the game and enhances the player's learning experience.

- Adapt for Small-Footprint Simulators and Online Platforms: Ensure that games function effectively on our compact simulators and online esports platforms, allowing flexibility and accessibility for all users.

- Prototype, Test, and Optimize: Develop prototypes, apply rigorous testing, and iterate designs based on feedback. Continuously optimize for maximum fun, functionality, and educational impact.
